This wine opener is stainless steel, it solid and packs some weight! It seems to be very high quality and it works perfectly to uncork wine and to remove caps. It has rubber grips to prevent it from slipping and possibly injuring you. I like how sharp the cork screw is, I have had problems with corks flaking and not coming off in one piece, this pierces the cork perfectly and it comes out smoothly. I've used flimsy openers of this style before, and rarely had issues with them failing. This device is considerably more robust than those options. The action is smooth and precise, and the screw length is just adequate to fully pull a cork- if the 'head' of the screw is flush with the top of the cork.I find the auger pin tip style on this much easier to 'aim' into the cork, the typical 'screw' type always makes me guess what angle or area on the cork to aim for to ensure it stays centered. With this, stab it dead center and twist away, fantastic. The force required to advance the mechanism is considerably less than with those 'screw' types and it's a much smoother and quieter operation overall.The only drawback on this, and it's a big one, is the lack of foil cutter. I can't remember the last time I've bought a bottle that didn't have the foil, so I find it a requirement to address. Without the ability to cut foil, I'll likely just grab my old crappy waiters style corkscrew and use that instead since it has a flesh cut-safe foil cutter blade built in. I could use a cheap knife to remove the foil, then use this opener, but then I've doubled the number of tools required and put myself in harms way trying to use knives on glass while likely at least moderately inebriated- not going to happen

The packaged arrived and I heard a heavy *thud* outside my door. I wondered at first what it was, and when I retrieved the package, I was surprised something so small could make such a loud sound. Opening it I realized why. This sturdy metallic wine opener was inside it!The product is made almost entirely of metal with only an internal plastic ring at the base but that is surrounded by a metal outer layer, so I feel comforted in the fact it is not likely to break. Because of the material its constructed with, it has a nice weight when in your hand that gives the impression of a quality product. Using it was exactly what you'd expect. It has 1 primary function and it does it well! The added bottle opener on the top is a bonus so I can reduce 2 tools in my kitchen down to one.The only thing that I felt could have been done better was the rubber grips of the arms. They are not aligned well and leave gaps (as pictured) that reduces the quality feel of the product. I'm sure not all of them have this minor cosmetic defect but it is something I noticed
